For the mystical misfits like me seeking spiritual authenticity

There are so many misconceptions about how to cultivate a genuine relationship with Spirit that really bother me as a teacher and learner of psychic and spirit communication.

It's not just because they are incorrect. It's because these misconceptions often stop folks who are serious about their spiritual development from exploring their own abilities and spiritual support systems. They can make approaching a spiritual practice seem more complicated and intimidating than it has to be.

This is especially not helpful if you already feel disconnected from your cultural spiritual practices and are judging yourself about it. If describes you, I feel for you. I get really angry and mournful sometimes about how much has been lost and stolen from us.

And it can lead us to seek certainty from sketchy sources, like your neighborhood generic witch shop that just leaves you with heavy colonizer vibes and a bad taste in your mouth. Or maybe trying to fit into another spiritual system that feels more like a costume than like your favorite stretchy pants.

The truth is that we don't need to do any of that. Your genuine connection to Spirit is already within you. You do not have to change who you are to receive real support and connection with the Divine.

You can still have an authentic spiritual practice even if when your grandma speaks in your mother tongue to you, you can only respond in English.

You can still have an authentic spiritual practice even if you don’t have any family recipes to prepare your ancestors’ favorite meal.

You can still have an authentic spiritual practice even if the stories of your precolonial deities have all been destroyed and lost to time.

You can still have an authentic spiritual practice even if you don’t have any pictures to put on your ancestor altar.

You can still have an authentic spiritual practice even if no one taught you how to pray.

You can absolutely have an authentic spiritual practice that supports you and your courageous goals to help heal the world, without any of the above.

My fellow mystical misfit, we were not born to conform to someone else's spiritual practice. We came here to do business. And we were born into this world with all the spiritual support we will need to get it done.

All you need to do is learn how to access it on your own terms.
