There are so many misconceptions about how to cultivate a genuine relationship with Spirit that really bother me as a teacher and learner of psychic and spirit communication.

It's not just because they are incorrect. It's because these misconceptions often stop folks who are serious about their spiritual development from exploring their own abilities and spiritual support systems. They can make approaching a spiritual practice seem more complicated and intimidating than it has to be.

Eclipse seasons can have us questioning everything. Even issues we thought we had resolved and processed through years ago can come bubbling up to the surface.

They're not always bitter medicine, though. They can also be gifts: big breakthroughs, flashes of insight, and meetings of fate.

For me, it has felt like a bit of both. This season is shining a light on parts of me I have wanted to keep in the dark: issues of worthiness, struggle, accepting help from others. I see through my journal entries over the last year how these themes have been creeping like vines through my subconscious. Divine timing has brought them all to bloom at the same moment.

Even though I'm doing less, I know my spiritual support team still has my back.

Here's another story. Yesterday, while I was hosting a support call for my Spiritfound Community, my computer started going haywire. Zoom was lagging and everyone's audio and video was choppy on my end. I thought maybe my Internet was unstable, so I got up to check my router.

I opened my office door and all I saw was smoke. All I smelled was burning chemicals.

One of my teachers always says that eclipses are a time when the sun and moon cast a spell on you.

I don't know about you, but I often feel powerless during this time--to my circumstances, to my emotions, and to others' emotions and circumstances. It can feel like I am floating in the ocean in the middle of a storm surge.

One thing that has helped me get through these seasons with minimal despair and stress is checking in with my guides and ancestors.

My mom was my first spiritual teacher.

She taught me how to pray.

She taught me how to set boundaries with the spirit realm. She did her best to spiritually protect me by assigning me 2 sets of godparents and making sure I received every Catholic sacrament on time from baptism to confirmation.

She believed me when I told her that my grandpa visited me in a dream after he died in our house. When I told her I felt that the dragonfly that hung around our driveway was him, she believed then, too.

I've come out on the other side of the portal, and I've made landing in northern Utah.

Despite the change in weather and the culture shock for this island girly, I know this is the right move for us. There is no mistaking it for me. My spirit team has been leaving me breadcrumbs to show me that this was the next step for whatever reason.

My grandma was always the culture keeper in our family. She knew the protocols for every death—what prayers to say, foods to eat, and when; how to prepare our homes and our bodies to prevent any potential spirit disturbances.

I absorbed a lot of this because we lived in the same house, and because I was eager to learn about our language and customs. One thing I did with her on every death milestone and birthday of a deceased loved one (which she hand wrote, every year, into the free wall calendars she would get on New Year’s Eve from whichever cousin was working at the bank) was to pray.

whose rituals, deities, and medicines were beaten and shamed out of your ancestors;

who know there is truth beyond the dogma of the religions stoking the capitalist fires burning around the world—

There is a lot to celebrate. It's me and my husband's engagement anniversary today. It's my fifth year of being in bruha business, and my 2-year anniversary of doing this full-time.
